Rug pads, cut to size
Durahold Plus, custom cut to your rug
The pad is the difference between a rug that creeps and curls and one that stays flat for years. We stock Durahold Plus, the patented felt-and-rubber pad used by rug professionals, and cut it to the exact size of your rug in the store or ship it to you. It keeps a rug flat and still on wood, tile, stone and vinyl floors. Every rug page has a box to add it, cut to that rug, so the two can arrive together.

Good to know
Buying a rug, answered
Where can I buy area rugs in Chicago and Evanston?
At our two showrooms, open every day: Rugistan® Chicago in Lincoln Square and Rugistan® Evanston on the Main-Dempster Mile. Together they carry 3,000+ handmade rugs: Persian, Turkish and Oriental rugs, rugs from Afghanistan, vintage and antique rugs, kilims and runners, ready to take home on approval.
Can I try a rug at home before I buy it?
Yes. From either showroom you can take rugs home on approval and live with them before you decide. Online orders ship free in the contiguous U.S. and can be returned within 30 days of delivery; rugs bought in our showrooms, within 7 days. See the return policy for how.
Where do your rugs come from?
Afghanistan, Turkey, the Caucasus, India, Pakistan and Morocco, among others. Our own team buys in Afghanistan; antique and vintage pieces are chosen one at a time. Our Persian rugs are bought here in the United States; we do not import from Iran. Every listing states the origin, the materials and the age.
Are your rugs guaranteed authentic?
Yes. Every handmade rug we sell carries a lifetime guarantee of authenticity and quality. It is what its listing says it is: hand-knotted or handwoven, with the origin, age and materials described. If it ever proves otherwise, bring it back for a full refund.
What size rug do I need?
For a living room, leave about 18 inches of floor around the rug and keep at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs on it. For a dining room, add 24 to 30 inches beyond the table edge. Use the size finder above or send us your room measurements in chat.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. Rugs ship free anywhere in the contiguous United States, carefully packed, and go out the same or next business day with tracking by email. Alaska, Hawaii and Canada rates show at checkout; for other countries, contact us for a quote.
Do you price match?
Yes. Our prices are marked. If you find the same handmade rug for less at a legitimate seller, we match it.
Do you clean and repair rugs?
Yes. Bring your handmade rug to either showroom for hand washing and repair, from $2.50 per sq ft in Chicago and $3 in Evanston, or book pickup in the Chicago area. We fix fringes, edges, holes and moth damage. See rug cleaning and repair.
